Table Description:

The theme for this wedding table is "Starry Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh.

The linens pick up the base colours of the painting and reflect the heavens above with a star pattern. The center piece is a miniature cypress tree that you see in the mid left of the actual painting which anchors the freeform sculpture that rises up to create a theatrical effect above the table guests.

The chargers are ultra-modern to reflect the move from a world that was in the midst's of a industrial revolution, however still inherently connected to the natural world to a world far removed from nature, imitating and masked with convoluted ideals.

The menu cards and place cards are petite pictures of the actual painting and highlight guests that you might find with Van Gogh on one of his famous nights on the town and pickup the highlight colours of the star and landscape sections of the painting.

The napkin ring is actually a paint brush placed as if on a palette with a hidden life mantra wrapped up in the actual folds.

The gift for the guests sits next to the plate and is a custom mixed chocolate ear resting in a transparent box and denotes a whimsical and comical element reminding us of our own frailties and passionate urges that sometimes drives us to "cut away the cacophony of the world."

This theme could be expanded to include other artists, time periods and artistic settings that would be a break from the sometimes static and stiff wedding scenarios that are of the mainstream today.
