Ted the DJ Pops the Question!

On Sunday, September 19, 2004, The Perfect Wedding Guide held its semi-annual bridal show at the JW Marriott at Lenox. Ted Crowder, Owner of Atlanta Bands and DJ’s Inc. and one of AtlantaBridal's very first "Preferred Professionals", has been the co-host of this bridal show along with Perfect Wedding Guide Publisher, Donna Jakulski, for four years.

This year everyone was in for a big surprise because Ted had a little "shiny" something up his sleeve...

Normally, when he is on stage hosting the show, Ted has a microphone in one hand and a box full of prize entries in the other. However for this particular show he asked his girlfriend Kim to hold the box for him while he was on stage. Although Kim wasn't exactly sure what the purpose was, she agreed to act as "box model".

There were four breaks planned for the Fashion Show so that Ted, Donna, and Kim could come out on the stage, give away door prizes, and describe the grand prize drawing -- an all inclusive honeymoon to Couples Resorts.

Ted Pops the Question

During the third break, Ted deviated from the script.

A hush fell over the room as Ted explained to the crowd of over 400 that Kim was his childhood sweetheart...    that they had been reunited after losing touch for many years...    that he always knew that Kim was the girl he was meant to be with for the rest of his life...

With each sentence, more and more of the audience caught on to what was happening and began to cry with excitement. When Ted pulled an engagement ring out of his pocket and started to walk down the runway to Kim, the crowd went crazy!

As Ted was kneeling in front of Kim, he literally had to shout “Will you marry me?” into his microphone because of all of the cheers in the room. With tears of joy streaming down her face, Kim squealed “Yes” into her microphone and the engagement was official!

Ted and Kim then had four minutes to get backstage, hug, dry their eyes and come back out on stage to give away the grand prize honeymoon.

Ted, who not only emcees the show but also runs sound and lights, was later heard saying he was "such a nervous wreck he had a hard time concentrating on all of his duties." However, he told me later that he thought everything went quite well...especially since Kim said YES!

Donna Jakulski, PWG Publisher said "It was a thrill to be a part of Ted’s big surprise and PWG was more than happy to help expedite this momentous occasion."

Everyone at AtlantaBridal.com wishes Ted and Kim the very best! Congratulations!
