Submitted By: Meredith Fleming Asking your bridesmaids to be in your wedding should be special. Although you may be so excited when you get engaged that you blurt out - "you must be in my wedding", a written formal request is certainly more heartfelt and sentimental.
In an effort to give my own wedding a personal touch, I wrote the following poems to send to my future bridesmaids. Please feel free to use them in your wedding planning and good luck in the months ahead!
Poem 1
The day, the dress
The bride, the groom
The joy, the tears
Will all come so soon
Professing true love
To my husband-to-be
With family and friends
All watching me
I hope the sun will
Be shining down
Keep your fingers crossed
That I'll fit in my gown
But there's one more thing
That there needs to be
And that's to have you
Standing with me!
Poem 2
The day of flowers
The day of dresses
We'll all look so lovely
With our fixed up tresses
The rings will shine
The sky will be blue
And for my good luck
A sixpence in my shoe
The nerves will come
The tears will flow
When I walk down the isle
With my dad, oh so slow
I will see my true love
Standing waiting for me
And with you by my side
How happy I'll be!
