Important tips on booking a live band. Before booking your reception site please investigate the sound ordinances in the county of your event. Decatur, Buckhead, Roswell require strict 80db (which BTW is about as loud as a vacuum cleaner) and doesn't lend itself to a very lively outdoor party.
Many reception sites now use sound meters in order to monitor and comply.
Another consideration when choosing the facility is hardwood floors, tall ceilings and glass. For maximum sound level comfort, choose a facility that has thick carpet and drapes...this absorbs a lot of sound.
And last but not least, put the young people, not your grandparents up front close to the band :-)
