| smc6 | Posted - 27 January 2000 18:16 Can anyone tell me which designers offer wedding gowns in petite sizes? | | Amanda | Posted - 27 January 2000 21:15 Goodness! I have no idea. I am 5'2 and was never tried on a dress that wouldn't have to be hemmed in the length. Maybe you could contact Pearl's Place and they could help. Or call the bridal stores and see if they know. Know that bridal dresses run small, so you may not have to have it taken in much in the upper part of the dress. However, I don't think you can escape the inches that will have to come off the bottom!!Good luck! Let us know if you find out anything! Amanda | | Shelly | Posted - 28 January 2000 10:2 Priscilla of Boston (there's a store in Buckhead) carries petite dresses. They even have at least one to try on at their salon. | | smc6 | Posted - 31 January 2000 9:48 Thank you for the information. I contacted Pearl's Place about Petite sizes and here is their response:"There are so few manufactures that make gowns in petite sizing. Some will do special measurements but that is tricky. Bianchi makes a few and I want to stress a few styles in petites. Demetrios does not. But you can usually get them altered as we do here with so many very tiny brides in our area. Jasmine, Venus and some others will do special hollow to hems, Monique also." By the way, Pearl's Place answered my email in about a half hour! I will definitely try Priscilla's of Boston. If any other Petite brides are out there, let me know what you've found! -Shannon | | krismcg | Posted - 1 February 2000 7:35 I am 5'1" with a small frame. I found a House of Bianchi dress that came in a 1 Petite through Bridals by Lori. It has saved me a ton of time and money in alterations. Kris | | smc6 | Posted - 1 February 2000 14:10 Kris: can you tell me more? Were there many petite sizes to choose from, and if you don't mind sharing what the prices were? I am also 5'1" (just barely) and I normally wear a size 2 petite. I'm worried about buying a dress that is so out of proportion that it looks funny, even when altered. Thanks! |
