I'm thinking about picking up some cards at Paper Affair this weekend to do my save-the-date cards on. If I want to print them myself on a computer, I assume that I can do it myself in Word. I'll adjust the paper size by selecting "Tools->Print Labels" and then choose an Avery Label that is the same size as my stationary.

So that's my vision - does anyone know if this will work? I can't test it because I only have webtv and home and my computer is at work.

Thanks,
Michele

I downloaded software from the following web site; http://www.ed-it.com/. It's very versatile. I'm also using software from Frogware called Wedmagic3. It has a built in invitation software. We used word for our hold the date letter. I used my printer to scan the paper, downloaded it to a .bmp file, then formated the letter around the design. It worked gret. Took some playing, but worth it. Warning: If buying invitations, ask if it can be run through a laser printer. Some are not flexible enough.

Just curious:

Would it be rude to e-mail people about saving the date? In this month's Glamour, I think it was mentioned that, while it would be rude to send wedding invitations via e-mail, it would be okay for save the date notices. What do you ladies think?

I think e-mail would be fine for the save the date info. I look at save the date as a courtesy to your guests who really want to attend, rather than a formal part of the wedding. Does that make sense?

I'm going to do some sort of email save-the-date. I think it's OK for this but not for invitations, and I just can't summon up any energy around putting together something cute (I'm feeling overwhelmed right now about everything). I'll try to make the email cute, and add a link to our wedding webpage on The Knot, which everyone has liked so far.
