| adrienne | Posted - 10 January 2000 12:22 I seem to recall, maybe it was peyton, someone(s) invitations had wording to invite people to wedding and reception as opposed to doing a corner copy.Could someone post that wording again?! Thanks!!! |
| Kathy | Posted - 10 January 2000 13:5 My invitations said "..... request the pleasure of your company at their Wedding, [date, place, address], and at the Reception Immediately Following" |
| adrienne | Posted - 10 January 2000 13:16 Great, that's what I thought it was. I just couldn't quite remember if it was after the location info or not... Thanks! |
| Amanda | Posted - 10 January 2000 14:40 Thanks so much for asking that question and posting the information!! We really can't have corner copy on our invites, and I didn't want to have to shell out the extra $$$ for reception cards since we are having the ceremony and reception at the same place!! This is great news!! Thanks!!Amanda PS: Adrienne!! It is great to have you back on the board!! I was hoping you would find us again! |
| adrienne | Posted - 11 January 2000 13:27 Thanks for missing me :-) I was here all along - I just hadn't recovered from the holidays, and I started a new job right before, so I'm up to my eyeballs in stuff to do! But now I'm back to the important stuff...Wedding Planning! |
| EM | Posted - 11 January 2000 13:52 Peyton had a good idea - hers said: "The parents names, blah, blah, request the honor of your presence at the wedding of, blah blah....... "and afterwards at the reception"That's what we're doing |
| adrienne | Posted - 11 January 2000 14:21 I thought peyton had something different. I think I like the first one better though, sounds more formal I guess... and afterwards is one of those words that always looks like I spelled it wrong! Thanks! |
| Peyton | Posted - 11 January 2000 14:53 Hello there. EM is right; mine said "and afterwards at the reception." This is the Crane's way, which I understand is pretty formal. But the other wording is good, too. Just as long as the point gets across! |
| EM | Posted - 11 January 2000 15:30 Hey Peyton, nice to hear from you. I thought we'd lost you in the change :-) |
| Peyton | Posted - 11 January 2000 16:0 Hi EM. Still here, even though my New Year's resolution was to stop surfing the board. I really love all of this wedding stuff, but now that I've been married over three months, it's probably about time I stop! My next project: looking for a house! If you know of any good properties for sale in the Midtown area, let me know. |
| adrienne | Posted - 12 January 2000 8:46 realtor.com will be your friend! You can house shop from the comfort of your own home :-) But find an agent too, they are especially helpful in quick markets like midtown and now is a good time to buy a house. Good luck!I'll have to go check the crane web site for wording ideas, I had forgotten about that... |
| jenniferw | Posted - 12 January 2000 22:25 I am doing "and afterwards at the reception". I have saved all of my friends invitations recently, for ideas : ), and they all said that if they were not using a reception card. Also, if your reception is not at the same place as the ceremony, you should be "and afterwards at the reception" on one line, and then on the next "location". If it is at the same place, then you do not put the location. Hope this helps. |
| Malachite | Posted - 14 January 2000 14:55 Just wanted to say thanks for posting realtor.com. We have to find a house by April or May or resign our lease, which neither of us want so I just wanted to say thanks it has been very helpful. _Mal |
