Help! I'm a little unclear about what information we should include with the invitation. I've read that it's pretty customary to include things like the rehearsal dinner invite.

My wedding is down in Florida and we are trying to make it a full weekend/vacation for our guests. My parents are putting together things like a golf tournament at our club for those that play golf (on Friday before the wedding). Should we include all the information for everything with the invitation or do we send it out to only those who accept?

What are you guys doing?

We are planning a whole weekend of events too, and I am going to include them w/ the invitation. How else are they going to know the when, where and how of everything if we don't? Maybe do a formal invitation, if you so desire and then print the other stuff on a piece of nice paper and put it beside your invitation in the enevelope.
I am making my own invitations, so I will probably put everything on the same kind of paper.

I'm a big fan of keeping the invites formal & only including things I want to print on premium paper.
For me, that didn't include things like hotel, the golf plans and sitting service #.

So, i sent out Save the date cards with that info on them.
I've seen other people use some kind of fun 8x10 paper & make a fun 'things to do' newsletter out of it & send it out before the invites.
If you have time, I think you could have alot of fun with it.
Also, you can do it pretty cheaply but printing them yourselves or buying the paper & having a printer (kinko's) print them for you.
Just a thought!

I see your point and I guess it is just an opinion thing, but I just don't want to spend money on addt'l postage by sending my save the day letters, then a weekend plan/newsletter, then the invitations --- it is just too much, especially w/ the added postage to Germany. Plus addressing enevelopes 3 different times --- blah!! :)
Kind of wierd, I love traditions and I am being somewhat traditional with a lot of stuff, but I am not sweating the whole invitation etiquette, as far as formulation and such.

Sorry, I wasn't suggesting you do 3 things. I was thinking you should do save the date/things to do.
Also, we set up a free website for those on the net. My family loves it! People who dont use the web much think you're so advanced setting up a web site. P-lease.
Do what makes you most comfortable, but just know that mail goes by weight & each piece you add will cost you almost the same $$ regardless. The money you save will be on the extra envelopes.

I guess you're right. We will probably set up a website too. We are sending out our save the day letters this week and unfortunately we don't have everything exactly planned. We do have a hotel, which we put on there. We said we are going to have a sightseeing tour and an informal cocktail party on Sat. a rehearsal dinner on Sun and of course the wedding on Monday. Beyond that, we don't how we are going to amuse people yet :)
We are also putting a "things to see and do in Atlanta" page and also putting a few other places that are w/i driving distance from Atlanta.
I guess that will have to do for now.

I think you should include all the information in the invitation envelopes or another way to go would be to get a website with all the information and places to go for the weekend so that guest can find out what is happening.
