We wanted to choose from 3 cake designers so we asked Lei for recommendations and we also did research on our own.

Frosted Pumpkin Gourmet was one of the cake designers that Lei, from AtlantaBridal.com, recommended. We contacted two other cake designers for appointments and then we contacted Frosted Pumpkin.

We scheduled a consultation and tasting with the first company that we called but the second company did not invite us out for a meeting. Needless to say we decided against the second company right away.

Our meeting with the first company was great and we were actually leaning towards the them until we met with Jeff at Frosted Pumpkin.

When we arrived for our meeting with Frosted Pumpkin, Jeff welcomed us and served us tea along with little appetizers and cake, of course!

There were beautiful models of cakes all over and he showed us tons of photos of their work. He also showed us the kitchen where the cakes are baked and designed. It is an amazing top of the line baker's kitchen and it is right in their home! (Separate from their regular kitchen of course.) It was very impressive. Many months after we hired them, I saw Frosted Pumpkin and their kitchen featured in the AJC.

Anyway, back to my cake! I know it is unusual but I want a chocolate cake rather than a traditional white cake. And when I say chocolate I mean chocolate - chocolate on the inside and chocolate on the outside.

We saw a picture of the cake we wanted in a magazine so we brought with us to our meeting and showed it to Jeff. He was very excited about it - he thought it was awesome that we were doing something a little bit different.

The cake we want is thin and tall, with four layers. It has pieces of chocolate that are cut out to look like leaves. It has marzipan on the top and around the bottom in fall colors that kind of pulls it all together.

During our entire meeting, Jeff was very classy and professional - which inspired a feeling of confidence in both of us. We both got the sense that he knew exactly what he was doing and that he was going to be able to deliver the cake that we really wanted.

Frosted Pumpkin's cakes are so beautiful and delicious. This is one of the things I am most excited about!
