Note: Jodi and Steve both moved to Atlanta in the past few years. Jodi is from New Jersey and Steve is from Florida. They are getting married in Atlanta.

It all started in 1976 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became an NFL football team and it was those same Bucs in 2002 that went to the Super Bowl. This is where the story begins....

I moved to Atlanta in early 1999, as I constantly remind Jodi, "Atlanta is as far north as I want to live". Jodi moved to Atlanta in December of 2000 and, as I write this, she mentions to me, just in case I forgot, "this is as far south as I will live".

So now you may be asking yourself how the girl from Jersey met the boy from Florida. Get your pen and pencil out because this is one of those college friend's friend's, friend's girlfriend's, friend's girlfriend's roommate, Internet, girlfriend's friend kind of thing. Can't follow? Let's try to explain...

Shortly after Jodi moved to Atlanta she decided she could use a roommate, and what a better way to find someone than by using the Internet. Jodi placed an ad on roommates.com and found the perfect roommate and new friend...let's pause the story here and rewind a little.

While I was off at the University of Florida (Go Gators) I was introduced to a guy named Ian through my buddies. After moving to Atlanta, I found out that Ian had also moved to Atlanta. So Ian and I began to hang out and play golf. Ian will argue that what I play is not actually golf, but what we will agree upon is that the beer was cold and there were plenty of women to talk about. One of those women was Ian's girlfriend.

I had only heard her name, Amber, and had yet to meet her. What I did not know was that Amber was the same girl I ate lunch with during high school. Can you now guess who Jodi's roommate turned out to be?

Correct! Amber! Ian's girlfriend and my friend from high school, is the person that answered Jodi's ad on roommates.com and had been living with her for over 2 years before I ever figured out that Amber, Ian's girlfriend, was also my friend from high school.

With all that said, you're probably still wondering where the Bucs come in. In 2002, Ian was having a Bucs playoff party and he invited me... and of course he invited Amber... and Amber brought Jodi. Long story short, that night the Bucs won the Super Bowl and Jodi and I won each other's hearts.
