The Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art was founded by
visionary art patrons in 1990. They transformed
the old Cobb County Library into an elegant
showcase for 19th and 20th Century American
Art. This Greek revival building was originally a
United States post office built in 1909 and much of
the original architecture and decoration still
remain.
For example, most of the original marble floors
have withstood the test of time along with our
flowing marble-stepped staircase. The building
also boasts a once revolving door, one of only two
in the city of Marietta.
We have also recently made some renovations,
which include a freshly painted lobby, a newly laid
red carpet on our front staircase and our four
dramatic Doric columns were recently refinished
and given a new coat of paint.
We have two functioning spaces which can handle
just about any event. Our Main Gallery on the first
floor has a total of 2,330 square feet of usable
space. The Main Gallery can seat from 150 - 200
people. If you prefer a buffet style affair, the Main
Gallery can hold a maximum of 300 people.
The Mezzanine Gallery located on the second floor
is a more intimate space. This gallery has a total
of 840 square feet of usable space and can seat a
total of 75 people, buffet-style or an elegant sit-
down reception. The Mezzanine Gallery is also
available separately priced at an hourly rate, an
excellent space for a rehearsal dinner.
In addition to these spaces, the lobby and portico
are included for use. The lobby has doors that
open onto the portico for a romantic cocktail hour
space.
We offer several packages which include the bare necessities up to
everything you would need to have the wedding of your dreams.
