A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to experience a personal tour of the indie-pendent, a fabulous little boutique in Virginia Highlands. If you aren't careful when you are shopping in the Highlands, you might just miss this hidden gem! The exposed brick walls and spiral staircase that are found in this charming "handcrafted" store are tucked away in an eclectic and totally awesome space that is accessed only through an alley off of St. Charles Avenue... just behind Belly and across from Neighbors. The indie-pendent offers high quality, handmade home decor, accessories and special occasion gifts. It is also a great venue for smaller wedding related events... ask them if they will rent it!
